In the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association News from Germany…

As our world’s climate crisis deepens, the dialogue and results from United Nations climate conferences grow ever more significant, garnering attention from around the world while serving as the foundation for far-reaching, multilateral decisions regarding climate change and its solutions. Our Association members from the Freiburg and Dusseldorf centers in Germany cooperated to promote the vegan answer and the positive messages of Supreme Master Television at the recent United Nations Climate Change Conference SB58, held in Bonn, Germany, from June 5-15, 2023. Besides presenting our vegan slogans and Supreme Master Television banners outside the World Conference Center, our Association members distributed Alternative Living and Supreme Master Television flyers to the more than 500 representatives and participants who joined the conference from around the world.

Notably, approximately 30% of SB58 participants were under the age of 30. Our Association members also provided free vegan meals to attendees while informing them of the vegan lifestyle’s planet-saving benefits. Some openly expressed their willingness to switch to a vegan diet. Several vegan and climate advocacy organizations were present during the 10 days, and some held demonstrations outside the main conference building. Many of the demonstrators were young, active environmentalists urging swift climate action to assure a safer future for themselves, their loved ones, and all generations to come. Our Association members cherished this opportunity to meet members of these advocacy organizations and participants.

“My name is Landry Ngaimeni Ngogpa. I am a Cameroonian. I am a climate justice advocate. Regarding the vegan lifestyle, I am in. I totally agree with you. We should all go green. We should have a lifestyle like vegan. That will help us to achieve sustainability for people, nature, and the planet.”

“Yes, I am vegan. When we are cruel even to animals, we will continue to be cruel to each other, and to start these wars. So, to build this kindness to people, to the world, you should start from what you are also eating, what you are wearing, and what you are using. I dream about a world where every species is equal. It doesn’t matter if you are human, you are an animal, (or) you are a tree, you have a right to live, to enjoy this planet, and to have justice.”

“My name is Joseph Longunza Malassi. I am climate change advisor for the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development for the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I am a climate change specialist, which I also teach at the University of Congo.

I appreciate the effort and the thinking and approach the strategy that your vegan organization has put in place because to me anything has to be done to stop climate change. It is established that methane is one of the greenhouse gases that are pushing, that are exacerbating climate change and global warming, so whatever can be done to pull down the rates of methane in the planet is welcome. We are talking about saving the planet here. Yes, we are used to eating meat and to using animal protein for our own sake, but if today, climate change is pushing us to question our habits, to question our food habit, why not do so? In the very far past history of humans, I think we used to be vegan. So we have to act.”

“My name is Tim Werner. I am from Germany. And I am vegan since 1993. Currently, I am campaigning for the ‘Plant Based Treaty.’ Because if all people went vegan, we could free up an area the size of the continent of Africa, and we could give it back to nature for carbon sinks and wildlife habitats. My dream would be to see a vegan world in my lifetime, as soon as possible. And, of course, this can only work when everyone helps, and everyone starts with their own plate. We can’t wait for others to do the first step. Everyone has the power to decide, what am I going to eat today? And so, everyone should start and inspire other people to go vegan.” To learn more about and endorse the treaty, please visit PlantBasedTreaty.org.

We thank all the noble souls who participated in the United Nations Climate Change Conference SB58 and sincerely wish for the vegan solution to be planted deep into the hearts and minds of the participants of this momentous event. For the sake of all Earth co-inhabitants, may our dreams of World Vegan, World Peace be here soon, in the everlasting grace of Glorious Heavens.
