Today’s Shining World Award program profiles the kind-hearted founder of The Sebbie Hall Kindness Foundation of Staffordshire in the United Kingdom, Mr. Sebbie Hall. Sebbie Hall is a young man who loves interacting with people. Although he has physical disabilities, he enjoys school and has learned much from interaction with his peers and teachers. When the schools were closed in March 2020, Sebbie felt isolated but overcame it through online education platforms, online social groups, and exercise to stay positive. He soon realized that some of his peers could not access online platforms such as Zoom and decided to help. Since he wanted to support other isolated young people to stay connected through smart devices, he became inspired to do 100 acts of kindness in 10 days to raise £1000. “I think the most important thing that he's shown is that some people might not be able to climb a mountain or they might not be able to run a race, but what we can all do is be kind. And that's the most important thing that Sebbie has done. Everybody can be kind.” Sebbie managed to raise more than anticipated, and in addition, others supported him by donating seasonal items, such as warm jackets and coats during winter, to Easter eggs during Easter. Every day, Sebbie would perform at least one random act of kindness. His shining example even garnered the attention of His Excellency Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, who awarded him the Points of Light Award for his positive community work. In 2021 alone, Sebbie Hall raised nearly £40,000 and supported many different organizations and causes. His primary focus remains to provide inclusive IT equipment and other opportunities for young people who found they could not socialize due to their circumstances. When hearing about this inspiring young philanthropist, Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Joyfully present the Shining World Compassion Award to Sebbie Hall, plus US$10,000 as a humble token, in loving support of your caring endeavors, with many thanks, admiration, and praises. May God bless you abundantly.”
