Bahá’u’lláh was born in 1817 in Tehran, Iran. His noble ancestry hailed back to the imperial dynasties of Persia. During His childhood, Bahá’u’lláh’s vast wisdom and charisma naturally drew people to Him, evening gaining the interest of ministers and court officials. Bahá’u’lláh exuded kindness and generosity growing up, enjoying nature, the outdoor life and a verdant landscape. Remarkably, Bahá’u’lláh did not have a formal education, but by 14 years of age, was known for His prolific knowledge of many subjects, great problem-solving abilities, and deep understanding of Islam and other religious scriptures.
