I have a cooking tip on how to make herbed rice to share with you! Start off by melting 1 tablespoon (15 grams) of vegan butter in a medium saucepan on medium heat. Then, pour in 1/4 cup (32 grams) of scallions and sauté for a minute. Next, add 2 cups (256 grams) of rice, 1 teaspoon (5 grams) of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 grams) of ground black pepper to the saucepan, and stir it often for one minute so all the rice is mixed with the plant-based butter. Then, pour in 3 cups (700 milliliters) of water and raise the heat. Allow it to come to a boil. Next, decrease the heat back down to a simmer, cover the pan, and cook for 18 minutes, until the liquid has absorbed, and the rice is al dente. Take the pan off the heat and fluff the rice using a fork. Lastly, add in 1/4 cup (32 grams) of curly chopped parsley and 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 grams) of lemon zest and stir. Season to taste and serve it warm. Your guests will surely enjoy this fragrant side dish!
