One of the most common questions I get asked is when to change light bulbs in homes? Here is a useful tip for you. Various things may cause a light bulb to flicker. Check first if the light switch is fully in the “on” position? Sometimes it’s hard to tell with lights that have roller-type or in-line switches, for example. Test the switch to ensure it’s properly working. Then check to see if the bulb is loose or rattling in the socket. You may have the wrong kind of bulb, or it may not have been screwed in all the way. Additionally, take the bulb out and perform the shake test. Most working incandescent bulbs will produce a light tinkle sound upon shaking. If it makes a deeper, clearer sound, this is an indication that the bulb has burnt out. If it’s a clear incandescent bulb, visually assess the filament on the exterior to see if it’s broken.
Now, it’s time to increase the hilarity of your day with the following joke. It’s entitled “Psych Hospital Qualifications.”
Sam asked the director of a psychiatric hospital how they know for sure if someone is mentally unstable and needs to be committed.
“We go to a bathroom and fill a bathtub to the top. Then we give the patient their choice of a big bucket or a small spoon and ask them to empty the tub.”
“So a sane person chooses the bucket because it’s larger, right?”
“No, a sane person would simply pull out the drain stopper. By the way, is a room with a garden view OK for you?”
