Japan provides food aid to locust-affected communities in Sudan.

Japan, a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Animal Protection and Generosity laureate, has donated US$1.7 million to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to help more than 78,000 individuals in the locust-affected areas in eastern Sudan, where crops and farmland have been severely damaged. The three months of food rations will include lentils, sorghum, salt and vegetable oil. Speaking of the timeliness of this donation, Dr. Hameed Nuru, WFP Representative and Country Director in Sudan, noted, “This funding will help us mitigate the worst effects of multiple crises and ensure that women, men and children who are hit the hardest, get the life-saving food assistance they need.” We are touched by your generosity, Japan, and your dedicated efforts, World Food Programme. May Allah bless the vibrant Sudanese people with evermore security and peace.

United States researchers find that universal mask-wearing would save many lives.

According to scientists from the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, an upsurge of COVID-19 cases is expected to occur in the US over the next few months, with over 500,000 estimated casualties by the end of February 2021. However, the researchers predicted that if at least 95% of the population wore face masks, this could prevent the surge and prevent almost 130,000 deaths. Senior researcher of the study, Dr. Christopher Murray, commented, “Expanding mask use can be one of the easy wins for the United States. It can both delay the re-imposition of social distancing mandates and can save many, many lives.” The study has been published in the peer-reviewed Nature Medicine journal. Our appreciation, Dr. Christopher Murray and fellow researchers, for the crucial information. In the wisdom of the Providence, may we all heed the advice of medical experts to protect one another.

Up next on Noteworthy News, solar-powered system provides water to remote Australian community. We will pause for a moment to thank the car wash professionals who work diligently outdoors as they freshen the inside and outside of our vehicles. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more meaningful news.

Hallo virtuous friends, it’s Aduro the vegan Arroyo Toad! Heaven on Earth is as close as your next vegan meal… because vegan is what the Golden Age is going to be! Here is an eco-friendly tip for you. If you are taking a walk, you can help clean up the environment as well. Wearing gloves, use an old pair of kitchen tongs and a garbage bag to pick up any trash along your path. Be sure to stay protected by wearing a mask, taking extra measures not to touch your face. When you get home, please thoroughly clean your tool and wash your hands. Ah, it sure feels good to do good! Thank you for watching. Lots of love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Now the weather from around the world.

New solar-powered system provides water to remote Australian community.

Developed by international design firm Aurecon and Australian electrical engineering company Ampcontrol, Project Gilghi is an off-grid water treatment facility that will allow access to clean drinking water for Indigenous rural citizens living in the Northern Territory. Oftentimes, the groundwater in Australia’s drier regions is too salty, so, many communities rely on transporting water long distances. Project Gilghi, however, can treat the water using power rom solar panels and a three-stage filtration that includes a sand and carbon filter, reverse osmosis, and UV disinfection. The innovative plant received the 2020 Institution of Civil Engineers Chris Binnie Award for Sustainable Water Management. Fantastic news and many thanks, Aurecon and Ampcontrol, for your life-improving solution. In Heaven’s light, may such excellent green systems be installed wherever needed until all the world has access to clean water.

British scientists invent new method to convert plastic into clean energy.

Professor Peter Edwards and co-researchers at the University of Oxford, United Kingdom, recently experimented with a fast and energy-saving approach to converting plastic packaging, bottles, bags, and more, into a source of hydrogen gas, a clean fuel. The scientists first separated the plastic into small pieces, then added an inexpensive and abundantly found iron-based catalyst. Next, the mixture was placed under a 1,000-watt microwave generator so that the catalyst created hot spots and evaporated the gas, without extra energy used on heating up the plastic parts. Through this process, 97% of the hydrogen was extracted from the plastic within seconds, leaving behind only carbon materials, which also have valuable use. Best wishes and thank you, Professor Peter Edwards and team, for working to address our global plastic waste problem. May our precious lands and oceans soon be plastic-free for all lives to thrive, in Divine grace.

Vancouver approves plan to shelter homeless people in wake of COVID-19.

The Vancouver City Council in Canada has unanimously agreed to invest US$22.8 million to place homeless individuals in vacant hotel rooms and apartment buildings, which are to be purchased or leased around the city. Immediately following the motion, people from the Strathcona Park tent community have begun to be relocated to temporary pandemic shelters, and a motel and hostel, both city-owned, are being put to use. We are grateful, Vancouver City Council, for your caring plan. May God bless and protect our more vulnerable neighbors, especially during this challenging time.

Coming up, Singapore-based start-up wins prestigious prize for its lab-grown milk. It’s time for us to thank God for beautifying the Earth with such diverse and exquisite fauna and flora. We’ll be right back with more laudable news here on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Friendly News for an Amiable World.

Singapore-based start-up wins prestigious prize for its lab-grown milk.

In a competition that saw 175,000 entries from 200 countries, biotech company TurtleTree Labs has won the 2020 Entrepreneurship World Cup US$500,000 prize for making milk in the laboratory that retains the qualities of cow’s milk. Founded in 2019 by Fengru Lin and Max Rye, TurtleTree Labs’ process, which has a 98% lower carbon footprint than animal-derived milk, involves extracting cells from the milk of mammals and utilizing a special formula to grow the cells. This induces natural lactation and obtains milk through a filtration process. The company, which is advancing towards the production phase, has applied their technology to making nutritional human breast milk for infants. Congratulations, TurtleTree Labs, on this recognition of your humane alternative to animal milk. We pray that soon all cows and newborn calves will be free from suffering as the world becomes vegan, in Celestial peace.

Eleven-year-old American boy recognized for helping animals.

When Kaden Simpson from Duplin County, United States, saw photos of 12 cats and dogs who had been badly burnt in a house fire near his home, he shed tears and immediately started a GoFundMe page to help. The caring youngster, who has autism, raised over US$8,750 for the animals’ veterinary care and food. Explaining to a local television station why people should help the injured canines and felines, Kaden said, “Because first of all, they’re cute. Second of all, they’re adorable.” Every year he donates his birthday money to the Duplin County Animal Shelter. Upon hearing of his noble deeds, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Kids honored Kaden with their Hero to Animals Award. PETA is a Shining World Compassion Award recipient. A big high five and God’s blessings, Kaden. Besides being so goodhearted, you too are very cute and adorable! May we all follow your amazing example and show our animal friends that we care. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Lovingly present Kaden Simpson the Shining Word Compassion Award, plus a fund of US$10,000 with tears of praise and gratitude for such a tender caring heart. May Heaven forever shield you in a protective embrace, hug you with all love, and an extra US$1,000 for your birthday presents, which you last sacrificed for the precious animals.”

Now, let’s kick back and relax with the joke of the day! It’s called “Seat Belt Demo.”

A father was teaching his 5-year-old daughter how to unbuckle her seat belt.

“Do I click the square?”

“Yes.”

“Single click or double click?”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Nuan-Nuan in China:

Dear Master, while watching the program “Happy United Korea Peace Celebrations,” seeing compassionate Master lovingly embracing every performer who came afar from Korea, my tears couldn’t stop streaming down, and then wept aloud. While crying, I shouted: “Master, I miss You! Master, I love You! Thank You, Master!” Master on TV seems much closer to me, and I felt I love Master dearly. It was a great feeling. Dear Master, thank You for Your blessing. I work in the hospital. Every day I need to be fully shielded and wrapped; I feel a little depressed. After crying, the stress was released, and my spirit was up again. Thank You, Master! I'm lucky to be able to follow You! Thank you, Supreme Master TV, which is like a beacon in my life! Nuan-Nuan from China

Courageous Nuan-Nuan, Our appreciation for your touching message. Let us unite as humanity and create a loving atmosphere worthy of our blessed Mother Earth.

Master sends this to you: “Nuan-Nuan, my love, I am so proud of the frontline healthcare workers, the world thanks you. Like yourself, they are working day and night to bring relief to others, especially amid the pandemic. Please remember the Buddhas will always comfort you in times of need. Recite the Holy Names to protect yourself and those around you. May you and the tireless people of China experience an ever brighter future under the watchful eye of Heaven.”

We welcome your heartlines, stories and or cute, loving animal clips. Please send them via SupremeMasterTV.com/heartline

It’s been a pleasure to have your company on Noteworthy News. May your heart rejoice in Divine benediction.
