When Mahatma Gandhi arrived in South Africa，he quickly discovered that his rights were unfairly limited. 1913, Mahatma Gandhi launched his first large-scale satyagraha campaign. The supporters faced many dangers during the protests, but in accordance with Mahatma Gandhi’s principle of nonviolence. After a result, 20 years after Gandhi had first set foot in South Africa, the poll tax for Indians were abolished and Hindu marriages given due recognition.
