Fresh air, fun games, good sleep, and lots of vegetables on the plate is a great way to raise healthy children. For infants however, the best start in life comes from mother’s milk and I’d like to share a tip why breastfeeding is so important. Respiratory infections in children are commonly caused by Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), which particularly affects infants below the age of two. RSV can impact overall health and immune development as they grow and can be fatal in severe cases. Preventative measures are crucial given how serious the condition is and the lack of effective treatments available, and in this case, nature knows best. Breastfeeding has been shown to protect against RSV, which could be attributed to the bioactive components in breast milk such as human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). Recent studies have shown HMOs are linked with reduced respiratory infection risk, viral load, and inflammation in infants, potentially via multiple mechanisms including gut microbiota modulation and direct antiviral action. In addition, remember to practice good hygiene, especially when coming home from outside.
Laughter is such a simple joy, and the joke of the day is ready, so what are we waiting for? This one’s called “Workspace.”
A man was attempting to join a wood frame together outside his home. A neighbor asked him:
“What are you doing?”
“Just some woodworking.”
“Why?”
“I’m trying to make a car garage. But I’m having a hard time. I don’t have the right workspace.”
“Oh, I didn’t know you have a car.”
“No, you're right. I don’t have a car.”
“Then, what do you need a car garage for?”
“For doing my woodwork projects.”
?!
