Here's a great tip for making your kitchen eco-friendlier while simultaneously promoting a cooking-conducive environment: Replace your paper towels and plastic wrap with tea towels. You can keep them neatly stored in the drawer, rotating them every day or two based on their various applications. Use them to press tofu with a weight on top before frying, to cover trays of breads, pastries, or phyllo that are proofing, to drain steamed spinach, dry herbs, or greens, to wrap freshly baked goodies before serving, and of course, to clean up spills. Have a kitchen that's not only efficient but also environmentally conscious and favorable to your culinary adventures.
It’s now time to let your inner child emerge as you hear a special joke. It’s called, “Unexpected Guest.”
Shawn was throwing a New Year’s party at his house. Many partygoers arrived, including one man who no one recognized. He was greeted heartily by Shawn’s friends and was led to the vegan food area, where he sat chatting happily for hours. Suddenly, it dawned on the mystery guest why he was there in the first place, and he went to look for Shawn.
“You know, Shawn, I wasn't even invited to your party. I just came by to say the car of one of your guests is blocking my driveway and my wife can’t go out.”

And now we have a heartline from Vân Khánh in Âu Lạc, also known as Vietnam:
Dear Beloved Master Tim Qo Tu, I would like to respectfully offer You the following poem that I wrote after my meditation session on February 14, 2023. When composing this poem, I was crying, thinking about the suffering that our animal friends have to bear. I just wish that all beings can live in love.
On Valentine’s Day, we talk about love
But do they have love, humanity?
When their dinner table is violence-filled!
Do they have love, humanity?
When their bellies are full of carcasses!
Do they have love, humanity?
When in the name of war, innocent people are killed!
Do they have love, humanity?
When they still discriminate between species: “Pets” for loving, “Animals” for “eating.”
Heaven is crying, crying and crying...
Tears from Supreme Master are shedding…
Thinking they are “superior,” the human species
Seeing the lives of other beings as food
Until one day, when exhausting their bodies...
And “having fun” in hell, after leaving...
Because: an eye for an eye!
Because: a life for a life!
Can you understand, O humanity?
The agony, suffering, and fear when being killed accumulate within the animal’s flesh.
Consuming beings, can you have peace???
Please turn back while you are able!!!
Be vegan – spread HEAVENLY LOVE – WORLD PEACE.
Finish the “sojourn,” go back to the ORIGIN.
Vân Khánh from Âu Lạc (Vietnam)
High thinking Vân Khánh, Thank you for sharing your poem with us.
Master has a heartfelt reply for you: “Compassionate Vân Khánh, it is difficult to bear the hypocrisy of this world, yet we must remember that the Buddha is inside all of us, and anyone can awaken at any moment. Join in thanking God Almighty for World Vegan, World Peace and all souls’ liberation daily. Nobly create what you want the world to be. That is what we must all do each and every day. May you and the good people of Âu Lạc (Vietnam) be filled with the Buddhas’ Great Wisdom.”
