“We firmly believe that military solution to Sudan’s internal conflict is not a viable option.” Sudan government and opposition groups sign peace accord.
On August 31, 2020, the Sudanese government and leaders of the Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF), an alliance of the nation’s opposition groups from Darfur and the southern states of Blue Nile and South Kordofan, agreed to a peace deal designed to end a 17-year internal dispute. The agreement addresses matters including security, political representation, economic and land rights and also includes the opportunity for displaced persons to return home. Sudan’s Prime Minister, His Excellency Dr. Abdalla Hamdok, a Shining World Leadership Award for Good Governance laureate, said, “We were able to accomplish this great work, and this is the start of peace-building.” Dr. Gibril Ibrahim, leader of the Justice and Equality Movement, one of the signing groups, stated, “I congratulate all in Sudan on reaching a historic comprehensive peace that addressed the roots of the problem and ended the war....” Taking place in Juba, the capital of mediating neighbor country South Sudan, the formal ceremony saw participating parties applauding and raising their hands in celebration and gestures of peace. Congratulations, Sudan, on this momentous peace agreement. Our gratitude, Sudan government and SRF leaders, as well as South Sudan for hosting and supporting this significant accord. Heaven bless you all abundantly. May Sudan and her peace-loving people prosper as you herald an era of unity and joy, in Divine upliftment.
European Union provides humanitarian assistance to refugees in Turkey.
The European Union (EU), a Shining World Leadership Award for Peace recipient, and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care and True Caring laureate, has approved €485 million in humanitarian aid, which allows two EU-funded programs in Turkey that began in 2016 to extend until the end of 2021. In particular, the Emergency Social Safety Net initiative will provide over 1.7 million refugees with monthly cash aid, and the Conditional Cash Transfers for Education program is expected to enable more than 600,000 children to attend school. All EU-funded programs are carried out by United Nations agencies, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and non-governmental organizations. Our earnest gratefulness, the European Union! We pray that all refugees soon find permanent homes that provide comfort and safety, in Heaven’s gracious embrace!
New research shows Earth’s magnetic field can change rapidly.
A recent study conducted by Dr. Chris Davies of the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom and Dr. Catherine Constable from the University of California at San Diego in the United States shows that the Earth’s magnetic field is capable of dramatic change much greater than previously known. Molten rock 2,800 kilometers below the surface of the Earth generates our planet’s magnetic field. Previously, scientists estimated it shifted one degree per year at the most, while the current study showed a rate up to 10 times faster. In the latest research, the scientists combined computer simulations with the field data to reconstruct magnetic shifts over the last 100,000 years. Thank you for the fascinating discoveries shedding new light on the past dynamics of our Earth’s core, Dr. Chris Davies and Dr. Catherine Constable. Your work increases our understanding of our amazing planet, blessed by the Creator in untold ways.
Up next, lockdown helped sea life prosper in Italy. We’d like to thank processing technicians for their hands-on work to make biofuels from plant sources that reduce the carbon footprint of industries. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more responsible news.
Hi jubilant friends, how have you been? I’m Sura the vegan Serval. People are head over heels in love with me because I’m vegan. Here is a cooling tip for you today. Ice will quickly melt in the summer heat. Here is a way you can keep your ice cubes frozen for a longer period. Before freezing the water, boil it for several minutes to eliminate dissolved gases and then allow the water to cool. Then pour the water evenly over big ice trays and set it in the freezer. Use larger ice trays to make bigger ice cubes or a muffin pan to create ice chunks. Avoid crushing ice or making small ice cubes as it will melt faster compared to large ice cubes or blocks of ice. Love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Thank you for your attention, and here’s the weather around our beautiful globe.
Sea life flourishes during COVID-19 lockdown.
The Italian coastguard has reported that marine life in the Mediterranean Sea adjacent to the nation has thrived as ships and people have left areas they formerly occupied, allowing many species of animals to return. In the protected marine reserve Secche di Tor Paterno, off the coast of Rome, colorful fish and moray eels can be seen. Sperm whales were observed near the Milazzo port and dolphins playing in the port of Liguria. The water quality has also improved. This is encouraging news, Italy. May the majestic returning sea animals help to inspire all nations to implement extensive conservation measures to ensure the purity and sustainability of the Earth’s magnificent waters, in God’s grace.
Korean inventors create toxic-free solar panels.
Researchers from Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology in Korea have discovered how to build solar panels using inexpensive alloys of copper, zinc, tin, sulfur and selenium, or CZTSSe, without compromising solar efficiency. These materials can make non-toxic, thin-film panels at a practical cost to replace most current solar panels that are often made of expensive rare-earth elements or very toxic metals. The scientists used a special method to grow the alloys to be more stable and effective, with a conversion efficiency of as high as 11.4%, an increase from the previous record of 10%. Possible applications for the eco-friendly panels include use in vehicles, electronic devices, buildings and household goods. The research has been published in the journal of Advanced Energy Materials. A standing ovation on this impressive accomplishment, Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology team. In Heaven’s radiance, may the world’s green developments continue to expand with more such brilliant innovations.
Mexico City storyteller entertains while reclaiming public space during lockdown.
Since the beginning of May, 27-year-old architect Percibald García of Mexico City, Mexico has been reading stories to children who listen at their windows in a huge apartment complex. Using a microphone, Mr. García broadcasts from open green spaces below the apartments. His enchanting entertainment celebrates Mexican culture in his choice of stories and the beloved children’s song he plays. Mr. García called his project “De la Casa a la Plaza” (“From the house to the plaza”), celebrating the traditional use of the public square in Mexican life. Praising the initiative, Maria Elena Sevilla, a grandmother living in the apartments, commented, “This young man will get a special reward from God, because it is not just children he is entertaining, it is people of my age, too.” Our heartfelt accolades, Percibald García, for your uplifting endeavor. May God bless you for spreading joy and love, in Divine delight.
Coming up, United States study links plant protein consumption and longevity. We are going to take an evening walk and thank the Moon for lighting up the night sky with its soothing glow. More laudable news coming up on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News - Generous News for a Caring World.
Study in the United States links plant protein to increased longevity.
In an analysis of more than 400,000 people in the US over the age of 50 by the National Institutes of Health, a government agency responsible for public health research, it was found that those who consume more plant protein live longer. The study tracked the participants over 16 years, and during that time mortality risk was reduced by 36% for men and 33% for women for each level of increase in plant protein. By replacing eggs entirely with vegan protein, researchers theorized that mortality would be reduced by 24% in men and 21% in women and replacing red meat would result in an average 13% decrease. These results were consistent with those of previous studies, which demonstrated the positive effect of plant-based diets in preventing cardiovascular disease mortality. Many thanks for this beneficial study, National Institutes of Health. May all people choose whole vegan foods for optimal health of body, mind and spirit, in the Providence’s loving guidance.
Cambodian province bans dog meat trade.
In a bid to restore “humanitarian values” and protect public health, Siem Reap, a province in northwestern Cambodia, has declared a ban on the hunting, buying, selling and slaughtering of dogs. Under the country’s law, offenders will face a prison term of up to five years and a maximum fine of approximately US$12,200. Shining World Compassion Award laureate FOUR PAWS International, an Austria-headquartered animal welfare group, has been working closely with the country’s government on the ban since 2018. It stated that the historic decision will save the lives of an estimated 7,000 dogs per month, is “a huge milestone for animal welfare in Cambodia and is reflective of current sentiment among Khmer people.” Our sincere gratitude and Heaven’s immense blessings, Siem Reap Province. Also, our warmest appreciation, FOUR PAWS International, for your continued noble work. In Buddha’s infinite kindness, may all our cherished animal friends soon be safeguarded to live joyously in peace around the globe. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Thankfully present the Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion to Siem Reap Province, with high salute, praises and heartfelt gratitude. May your compassionate deeds be abundantly rewarded in Buddha’s blessings.”
Let’s bring a little fun into our lives with the joke of the day. This one is called “When in Love.”
Sophia was proudly displaying her observations on people’s romantic behavior: “You can easily tell whether two people are in love or not when they are eating in a restaurant.”
“How”?
“Lovers will just stare at each other until their food gets cold. Normal people will care more about the food.”
“Oh, then next time I go out to eat, I’ll try to be with friends that are in love with each other. Then I can eat more.”
And now we have a heartline from Fang Ling in Malaysia:
Hallo, dear Master and the Supreme Master TV team, since the relaunch of Supreme Master TV, I have watched it almost every day especially the program Between Master and Disciples. It is of very great help to me. Not only is my life getting better and better, the important thing is that there is also a very big change in my spiritual practice. I found that I still had a lot of shortcomings, ego and arrogance, which made me unhappy and hampered my spiritual practice. Since then, I pray and repent every day, rectify my habits, learn to be humble, meditate more diligently, implement Master’s teachings and help those in need. Ever since I have followed more of Master’s teachings and let go of more of my attachments, I can feel Master’s boundless Love. I’m very grateful for Master’s tolerance and Love. How lucky I am. I am willing to share such happiness with more people, hoping that all sentient beings can feel Master’s great Love. Supreme Master Television is the most beautiful, loving, positive and powerful gift that Master has given to all beings on Earth. I hope more and more people will tune in and cherish Master’s precious Grace. I am grateful to Master and the Supreme Master TV team for Your contribution. May Heaven always take care of You, and may You always be healthy, safe and work smoothly. Forever loving You, Your disciple Fang Ling, from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
