Japan provides funds for lifesaving food aid in Central Sahel, Africa.

Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Animal Protection, and Generosity laureate, Japan, has donated US$11.7 million to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to provide essential food and nutrition support to Central Sahel residents in need. Of the total amount, US$5.7 million will be used to deliver vital food to 177,000 people in Burkina Faso, supplying them with sufficient food until the next harvest in September. Furthermore, US$3 million will enable WFP to provide food aid to refugees, internally displaced people, and underprivileged host communities as well as children and pregnant women in Niger to relieve and avert malnutrition. The remaining funds will go towards urgent food assistance in Mali. Our salute and heartfelt gratitude, Japan and World Food Programme. In the immeasurable kindness of the Providence, may the people in the Central Sahel soon have an abundance of nourishment as we all become better guardians of our planet.

Qatar humanitarian organization supports Syrian refugees in Turkey and Syria.

Qatar Charity, a Shining World Compassion Award laureate, has donated over US$4 million to assist Syrian refugees and healthcare staff in Turkey and northern Syria in containing the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the project, the Provincial Health Directorates in Gaziantep and Kilis, both in southern Turkey, will be supplied with 500 liters of hand sanitizers, 75,000 protective medical masks, and 200 thermometers. Urgently required medical materials are also being given to health workers in a number of Syrian towns near the border of Turkey. In addition, food aid will be provided to elderly and vulnerable individuals in the refugee and host communities. Our sincere appreciation, Qatar Charity! In our prayers, may your charitable deeds comfort precious individuals in need, in the overflowing love of Allah.

Up next, Austria shuts down its last coal-fired power plant. We give thanks to all the forests for stabilizing and cooling Earth’s climate by producing moisture and rainfall, while also purifying the air, holding soil in place, protecting biodiversity, and much more. Hi, joyful friends, I’m Hazel the Highland Cattle Calf and I thoroughly enjoy my plant-strong lifestyle! Here’s a tip for bathing your canine family member. Introduce them to bath time when they are still young by standing them up in shallow warm water several times prior to giving them their first real wash. You can help make it a more pleasant experience by filling the tub with warm water and setting a mat or towel on the floor of the tub to prevent your dog from sliding. Bath time is also a good opportunity to familiarize them with grooming tools like a comb or shampoo. The majority of dogs only need to be bathed once every two weeks, or once every six to eight weeks if they have short hair or reside indoors. Washing them frequently can do more damage than good as it removes natural protective oils from their coat, which can result in skin irritation. Thank you for your attention, and much love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all humans and us all co-inhabitants. Here’s the weather around our beautiful globe.

Austria closes last coal power plant in the nation.

As Austria moves to end the use of fossil fuels for power generation by 2030, the coal plant located in the southeastern town of Mellach, which supplied electricity and heating to the city of Graz for 34 years, was closed down. The remaining fossil fuel plants that run on gas and oil will cease operating by the end of the decade, after which Austria intends to power its entire nation from renewables. Seven other countries in the European Union have also completely eliminated the use of coal for energy generation as the continent pursues complete carbon neutrality. Way to go, Austria, on your ecological progress. We pray that all European countries quickly achieve their high thinking goals of protecting the planet, in Divine jubilation.

Innovative solar cell sets efficiency records.

Scientists at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the United States have created a photovoltaic cell that achieved a world record 47.1% for solar conversion efficiency under concentrated illumination. The six-junction solar cell is made up of more than 140 layers, yet is three times narrower than a human hair. The layers are constructed of special materials that capture light from different parts of the solar spectrum, thus boosting its ability to generate electricity. These very efficient solar cells are currently used in space and other niche applications, but could find wider applications as the price of the technology comes down. Congratulations, National Renewable Energy Laboratory scientists, on this amazing accomplishment. May green discoveries such as this one, go hand in hand with the worldwide adoption of the Earth-saving vegan diet for a sustainable and brilliant world, in Heaven’s glory.

Mechanic devoted to assisting road accident victims in Âu Lạc, also known as Vietnam.

Lê Văn Đinh, a motorbike mechanic in Quảng Trị Province, Âu Lạc (Vietnam), has been awarded a government certification of merit for using his savings to buy a car so that he can quickly transport road accident victims to the hospital, free of charge. Whether day or night, whenever there is someone who needs help, he immediately responds. In addition, he raised more than US$121,000 from the community to support the victims. The kindhearted man also sponsors 18 disadvantaged students and provides free vocational training to four underprivileged teenagers at his motorcycle shop. Our warm gratitude, Lê Văn Đinh, for your unconditional help to those in need. You are truly a hero. May you and the ones you help have a healthy and peaceful life, in the blessings of the Buddha. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Touchingly present Lê Văn Đinh the Shining World Compassion Award and a loving contribution of US$10,000 in support of your benevolent work, with all love, gratitude and high regard for your generous and caring spirit . May you and all involved be forever shielded and blessed in Heaven’s embrace.

Up next on Noteworthy News, report shows exponential growth in vegan meat sales. It’s time for us to remember to smile and have happy and grateful thoughts. We’ll return with more encouraging news on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Splendid News for a Wondrous World.

Sales of plant-based meat sees large increase due to COVID-19.

United Kingdom-headquartered international newspaper, the Financial Times, reported that the COVID-19 pandemic is “reshaping the North American food market,” with plant-based meat sales in the United States increasing by 200% in the week ending April 18, 2020, compared to the same period in 2019. US restaurant chain, Bareburger, noted that vegan burgers now make up 50% of all burgers sold, while brand manager for the eatery’s United Arab Emirates division, Fabrice Vriens, stated, “The COVID-19 crisis is pretty much associated with the consumption of animal meat.” He added that an increasing number of diners are choosing vegan options. We are gladdened to hear of the fast shift toward safe, nutritious and delicious plant-based meat alternatives. In Celestial delight, may all people soon modify their diet to the win-win vegan way, and thus protect themselves and all beings.

Animal welfare team saves hundreds of dogs from slaughterhouse in China.

A collaborative effort between local authorities, volunteers, nonprofit VShine Animal Protection Association and its partners from Henan Province and the city of Zhengzhou, rescued 423 canines, mostly believed to be stolen from human companions, from an underground dog meat facility. The rescue operation was initiated after animal activists and distraught caregivers lodged reports of missing dogs to the police. While the majority of the saved canines have been tended to locally, with the hope that some will reunite with their caregivers, 25 were brought for veterinary treatment to a shelter in Beijing owned by VShine and the Humane Society International, a Shining World Compassion Award recipient and Shining World Protection Award laureate. Following the rescue, law enforcement officers are looking into taking legal action against the illegal slaughterhouse. Our earnest thanks for the timely rescue, VShine and all parties involved. May we extend kindness to all beings, as the compassionate Vegan Law soon governs our world, in Heaven’s mercy. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Tearfully present the Shining World Compassion Award to VShine, and a US$20,000 humble contribution for these noble and loving life-saving efforts, with special thanks to all involved authorities, volunteers, partner organizations and the Humane Society International. May the Divine grant you all love, blessing and protection all your lives.”

Do you exercise daily to keep healthy?

Yes, yes. I play football and tennis daily.

Good! How long do you play?
