European Investment Bank provides €250,000 to address famine in Madagascar.
The donation will go to the non-governmental organizations Save The Children, UNICEF and Germany-based Welthungerhilfe that are working in Madagascar to mitigate the famine crisis. Southern Madagascar is experiencing the worst drought in 40 years due to climate change, with more than 1.14 million people affected. The inadequate rainfall, growing number of sand storms and locust swarms have caused failed harvests, forcing farmers to sell most of their possessions to survive. The funding will support programs that offer Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food to near-starving children and provide aid to families with very young children, women-led households with vulnerable dependents as well as those caring for disabled and chronically ill people. Our heartfelt thanks, European Investment Bank and all involved non-governmental organizations, for your caring support of the Malagasy people. In Heaven’s mercy, we pray that humanity is graced with a gentler climate as we transition to the Earth and life-sustaining vegan diet.
World Health Organization regional director cautions Europe over new coronavirus strain.
The World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Europe, Dr. Hans Henri Kluge, recently made a statement warning Europe of a potential third wave of COVID-19. Dr. Kluge pointed out that most of the WHO European Region, which includes approximately 746 million people, is now free of lockdowns, yet the Delta variant is spreading, and cases have begun to rise. He cautioned people to take both doses of the COVID vaccine, wear masks and assess risks when traveling or being in crowds. Our appreciation, Dr. Hans Henri Kluge, for your timely alert to the residents of Europe. In the love of the Providence, may all citizens across the world practice adequate hygiene and safety measures as we pray for a swift end to this pandemic.

Hey, amazing viewers, it’s Be-be the vegan Baboon. Follow me, be vegan, be free and let your spirit soar into the sky! I would like to share a handy tip with you. Here are several ways to keep your fire pit in tip-top shape. If you have a wood-fired pit, make sure you remove the ashes following every use, as the ash is acidic and leaving it behind can result in damage to the pit. On the other hand, for gas-powered pits, you will need to remove any leaves, twigs or other debris that may have dropped into the pit prior to turning it on. Please don’t pour cold water onto a hot flame, as an extreme change in temperature can negatively impact the metals and masonry, which will subsequently cause them to weaken and crack. Also, be sure to keep a cover on the fire pit when you are not using it to protect it from nature’s elements. Thank you for your attention and lots of love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet thus save the world! Now, the weather around the globe.

General Electric releases world’s largest and most powerful offshore wind turbine.
General Electric, from the United States, recently launched the Haliade-X, which has a 13-megawatt maximum capacity and 107-meter long blades. Each year, the turbine can produce 74 gigawatt-hours of electricity, and one turn of the blades, which takes under seven seconds, is enough to power a home in the US for a day. Two projects that will use the turbine have already been announced, one in the United Kingdom, which will power as many as six million homes per year, and one in the USA, that will power 400,000 homes and save 1.4 million metric tons of emissions annually, which is equal to removing 11,000 vehicles off the road. Way to go, General Electric, on the release of your new and most powerful wind turbine. In the benevolence of God, may the world’s electrical generating capacity soon be fully renewable as we protect the planet for all.

Heartworm-positive dogs get second chance at life in United States.
Heartworm disease is caused by parasitic worms that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of infected animals, mainly dogs, resulting in severe lung disease, heart failure, other organ damage, or death. It is spread by an infected mosquito’s bite and afflicts more than a million animal companions in the US. Sadly, shelter animals with the disease who otherwise are adoptable are at higher risk for euthanasia. Pennsylvania’s Main Line Animal Rescue, through a US$30,000 matching grant from the Bissell Pet Foundation (BPF), recently launched the new Healing Heartworm program. This wonderful initiative provides affected dogs with life-saving treatment, a flea and tick preventative to ward off mosquitos, nurturing care, and a chance to find their forever loving homes. Bissell Pet Foundation is a Shining World Compassion Award recipient, and Supreme Master Ching Hai previously donated US$10,0000 to support this charity’s activities. Our gratefulness, Main Line Animal Rescue and Bissell Pet Foundation, for your compassionate work that gives our innocent animal friends hope for a new life, in the nurturing comfort of the Providence.

After encountering an unfriendly snake while on a hike, Roger was gratefully in the good hands of the paramedics.
“OK, just relax. You’re going to be fine. But could you tell us more about the snake that bit you? What did it look like?”
“Hmm… like an angry rope.”
