Today, we would like to present excerpts from Chapters 10 to 12 from the First Epistle to the Corinthians in the Holy Bible, where Saint Paul expounds on the glory of God and the dangers of sinning and idolatry, which we can flee from through God’s Grace and repentance. He also reminds us that the Divine spark is in all of us.“I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual food; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit sexual sins, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.”“Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.”“Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.”“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another various kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these work that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will.”
