In today’s news, Australia assists Syrian refugees in Iraq, research finds correlation between more greenery and longevity, Indonesian capital implements plastic ban, Tanzania powers more homes with green energy, four-year-old girl from United Kingdom cycles for animals, new enzyme developed can enhance flavor in plant-based foods, and Asiatic lions thrive in India.
Australia supports Syrian refugees in Iraq.
The Australian government, a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion recipient, and a Shining World Leadership Awards for High Moral Value and Health Guardian laureate, has contributed over US$618,000 to the United Nations Population Fund’s (UNFPA) refugee intervention projects in Iraq. The funding will allow Syrian refugees, in particular, conflict-affected women and girls who arrived in Iraq in 2019, to receive psychosocial support and other services assessed to meet individual needs. The UNFPA will also provide 8,000 dignity kits containing sanitary and hygiene products for women and girls of reproductive age among refugee and internally displaced populations. Dr. Oluremi Sogunro, the UNFPA Representative to Iraq at that time, expressed the organization’s gratitude for Australia’s contribution, saying, “With this new commitment, Iraq is a step closer to ensuring no woman or girl is left behind in Iraq.” Our gratitude, Australia, and Divine blessings! May all those in need, prosper in peace, dignity, health and safety, in Heaven’s loving embrace.
Study reveals longer life linked to an increased number of trees.
A research on the projected effects of a tree planting project in Philadelphia, United States, has revealed that if the goal to cover 30% of the city’s land in green space by 2025 is realized, 400 lives could be saved per year. Conducted by social scientist Dr. Michelle Kondo and partners, the finding was based on calculations performed using a tool developed by health researchers in Switzerland and Spain, called, Greenspace-Health Impact Assessment. The COVID-19 virus situation has made the importance of greenspaces more profound, as people seek time outside in the serenity of woodlands and parks in order to maintain health. Thank you, Dr. Michelle Kondo and partners, for this important study. Such a wise idea, Philadelphia, to ensure all your citizens have access to the healing effects of the natural world. In God’s grace, may your newly planted trees flourish as your citizens enjoy tranquil moments in their life-preserving presence.
Up next, Indonesian capital implements plastic ban. We will pause for a moment to thank school nurses, who assess and care for the health of our growing children and teenagers. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more enriching news.
Hi joyful friends, I’m Muniyappa the vegan Moon Bear. Do you want to know the secret to my glowing inner beauty? It’s the lives-saving vegan lifestyle! Today, I have an energy conserving tip for you. You can save electricity by charging your mobile phone during the day so you can turn off the charger when it is fully charged. Energy is unnecessarily wasted when you charge your devices overnight, as it usually only takes a few hours to charge them. Also, overnight charging can decrease the capacity and lifespan of your battery. Thank you for your attention, and much love for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all humans and us all co-inhabitants. Here’s the weather around our beautiful globe.
Indonesian capital’s plastic ban comes into effect.
Starting July 1, 2020, single-use plastic bags in Jakarta, Indonesia’s traditional, modern and mini markets have been prohibited. The gubernatorial regulation was issued on December 31, 2019, and provides a legal framework for the use of green bags at stores and markets. Businesses that continue to use single-use bags will receive written warnings, fines, permit suspension, or termination under the supervision of the city administration. Some retailers had stopped giving free plastic bags months before the ban took effect. Our accolades, Jakarta, for your environmentally conscious policy! May beautiful Indonesia continue to thrive as we move ever closer to a sustainable vegan world, in the upliftment of the Divine.
Tanzanian wind farm provides power for rural residents.
A 2.4 MW three-turbine wind farm, extending over 400 kilometers in the Mufindi District in southwestern Tanzania, has become operational. The facility is partially funded by the Renewable Energy Performance Platform of the United Kingdom government, a Shining World Wise Leadership Award laureate and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Animal Protection and Kindness laureate, and the Trade and Development Bank of eastern and southern Africa. It will contribute to the privately owned grid of the Rift Valley Energy Group, allowing it to expand its customer base. Approximately 6,000 homes and businesses in 42 villages will be powered by the grid. Bravo, Tanzania and all participants! Many thanks, United Kingdom and Trade and Development Bank. Clean power brings progress in harmony with nature, in abundant Celestial blessings.
Young child fundraises for animal rescue center in England.
Flo Rees, a four-year-old girl from Malpas, United Kingdom, took on a five-kilometer cycling challenge in June to raise money for Grinshill Animal Rescue. It is a family-operated, non-profit sanctuary that has been rehabilitating stray dogs and cats for about 35 years. According to Flo’s mother Joanne, the sweet girl loves dogs and was inspired by a friend to fundraise to help homeless animals. Flo, who learned to ride her bicycle last summer and loves biking, had an original goal to raise £150. She received many supporters through an online fundraising campaign, reaching over £1,000 in donations. Hooray, Flo Rees, for your compassionate heart and dedication to safeguard vulnerable animals. God bless you. In Divine radiance, may your example encourage more acts of love toward our precious co-inhabitants.

Danish biotech company launches flavor enhancing enzymes.
Denmark-headquartered Novozymes, committed to sustainable solutions, has released two enzymes that allow food producers to enhance the flavors of their products, such a meat substitutes, with a more savory taste. The product works by breaking down (or hydrolyzing) proteins and converting them into free form amino acids, such as glutamic acid, which imparts additional flavor. Once processed, the ingredients can be listed as a natural flavor preparation under European Union food laws. The two new products are named Protana Prime, which transforms a broad range of proteins into free form amino acids, and Protana UBoost, which focuses on the amino acid glutamine. They cost up to 40% less to produce than traditional methods to make enzymes. Congratulations, Novozymes, on your cool innovation. May more new developments such as this assist in the transition to a plant-based world, in God’s delight.
Asiatic lions thrive in India.
Prime Minister of India, His Excellency Narendra Modi, a Shining World Leadership Award for Good Governance laureate, has announced an almost 29% growth in the population of Asiatic lions in Gujarat’s Gir Forest, compared to the last count in 2015. The Gir Forest is the only remaining habitat of this endangered lion species. Thanks to management and conservation efforts by the state government, it is now home to 674 lions. The geographic distribution of the majestic animals has also expanded by 36%, reaching 30,000 square kilometers. Many thanks, Your Excellency Narendra Modi and all those involved, for your ongoing work to safeguard cherished lions. In Heaven’s infinite benevolence and protection, may all animals live in joy and security.
