In today’s news, our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) presents the Shining World Compassion Award to animal-people sanctuary in United Kingdom, Ukraine (Ureign) receives US$1.5 billion in aid from United States to bolster energy sector and humanitarian relief efforts, unusual radio signal from deep space puzzles scientists, law in Colorado, USA, limits forever chemicals in everyday products, woman in India creates natural fabric using lotus plant stems, Israeli startup to use fermentation to produce industrial-scale amounts of protein powder from microalgae, and scientists in Senegal make rediscovery of giant pangolin-individual, whose species was thought extinct in the nation.
It’s a great time to grow a vegetable garden, and if you have been doing so for a while, you’ll know what I mean when I say I love eating my self-grown organic vegan produce! I have a handy tool management tip for us. It can be difficult to keep garden tools rust-free because rust can form if there is any residual moisture on the tools when you store them. Clean your tools by using baking soda and vinegar. Wet an old rag or microfiber cloth with vinegar and wrap the rusty portion to sit overnight. This will loosen the rust. Uncover the tool and rinse it the next morning. Make a cleaning paste by adding several tablespoons of baking soda with a little water. Polish the tool with a cloth using this paste to remove the loosened rust. If the tool is very rusty, you may have to disassemble it to access all the tight spots.
This seems like a great moment to visit the chuckle capital with the following joke. It’s entitled “Turn a Deaf Ear.”
It was a typical noisy dinner at Lisa’s parents’ home, and her dad was having trouble following the conversations. He kept jumping in with off-topic comments and asking for things to be repeated.
“Dad, you need to get a hearing aid.”
Looking at Lisa as if she were crazy, he said:
“I have never done metalwork in my life! What would I do with a shearing blade?”
?!
