I love having a nice cup of coffee after my morning meditation. One of my favorite ways to brew this delicious drink is with a reusable coffee filter. Let me share with you why. A lot of waste is generated from single-serve capsules and paper coffee filters which end up directly in landfills, rivers or oceans, as they are not recyclable. Luckily, there are sustainable alternatives. Coffee filters come in an array of reusable materials such as cotton, hemp, metal, and bamboo. These materials last longer and reduce exposure to harmful chemicals like chlorine and bleach, that are typically found in paper filters. Organic cotton filters are excellent for brewing a delicious cup of coffee; the acidic elements from the beans are filtered out while the fragrant oils are maintained in the process. The eco-friendly filters, replace on average, around 500 paper counterparts. Moreover, they come in various sizes, are guaranteed to last up to a year and when it’s time to replace your filter, you can easily compost the old one. Next time you make that lovely cup of coffee, you can rest assured that your thoughtful choices are helping to protect our Earth.
Now, it’s time to join the good mood assembly with the joke of the day. It’s entitled “What Job?”
Two fresh college graduates were talking with each other:
“What job does your girlfriend do that she carries such a big briefcase everywhere?”
“She doesn't have a job yet.”
“So, why does she carry a briefcase?”
“Her job applications.”
!?!
And now we have a heartline from Jackson in Toronto, Canada:
On December 18, 2022, I decided to spend the holidays alone in a cabin... My two adult children had plans with their kids and friends. Naturally, I allowed them to be free and have a good time without the pressure to spend time with me. We often talk about it, and they know I am fine alone because Master is always with me.
Before coming to the cabin, I placed a table for sale. A lady answered the ad and asked me if I could reduce the price because she was buying it for her neighbor who was going through hard times. Without hesitating, I asked them to come and get it at no charge. She came to pick it up. She was very thankful. After loading the table into her car, I gave her a bag full of vegan food, and she almost cried, saying, “This is God-sent because I wanted to buy some food, but I did not have the money this week.”
After a few days, nature wanted to dump five feet (1.5 meters) of snow in a very short time, and I was not prepared for that. The driveway leading to the main road is a kilometer long, and the snow was too high, so I could not use my car nor walk to get out. Well, Master is with me, I will be fine.
I had a generator, food to eat, water to drink, internet to do some Supreme Master TV work, and a wood stove to warm up… I had more than many other people in need. I was stuck on the mountain for a while, and the first thing that came to mind was that Master always reminds us to accept with gratitude what comes to us. If pleasant or not, there is always a good reason, most times not clear to us, but always good for us.
Now one month later, I am still living at the cabin. One of my sons came to clear some of the snow with the help of a big truck and I was able to drive my car to the main road. There is a saying worth mentioning here, “Preparation Makes an Amateur Look Like a Professional,” which certainly helped me at this time.
Naturally, every day I meditated at different times, sometimes a lot and sometimes not that much. The cornerstones of my confidence were the Five Holy Names and Gift, which I knew was everything I needed.
Thank You, Supreme Master Ching Hai, for the IMMENSE Sacrifice taken upon Your shoulders in order to save the World. My humble thanks are not enough, but I hope the message comes loud and clear that I LOVE YOU MASTER in ways that cannot be humanly explained, and I take this opportunity to also say THANK YOU for my family, and the many people around the world that are benefiting, but they are not fully aware that YOU are looking after them too. Jackson from Toronto, Canada
Astute Jackson, We really enjoyed your witty, yet very honest account, of how Master prepares and provides the tools for initiates to accept anything and everything and be grateful. We know that we are the most blessed inhabitants on Earth. May you and vast Canada be forever confident in doing good deeds to improve the lives of all sentient beings. In Divine compassion, Supreme Master TV team
P.S. Master offers wise advice: “Tenderhearted Jackson, how happy I am to know that you had no hesitation in answering another’s call for help. This is how we should all live. There is no “us” and “them,” we are all one and should treat each other as we would ourselves and our loved ones. Do always try to remember God and meditate as much as you can. It is good for you to know your own God Power. Much Love and may you and the pleasant Canadian people be kept safe and protected by the Cosmic Benevolent Beings. Love you a lot too.”
