In today’s news, Yemen receives food security assistance from European Union, research finds humans are primarily responsible for species extinction, bumblebees benefit from faba bean crops, hydrogen sports car unveiled in United States, marine biologist in Australia committed to reviving coral reefs, Indian startup produces cashmere-alternative vegan fabric, and American organizations collaborate to save animals in the Caribbean islands.

European Union provides vital food assistance to Yemen.

The EU contributed €45 million towards the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to maintain life-saving aid to Yemenis, whose food insecurity has been compounded by COVID-19. This contribution has been used to distribute food, vouchers and cash to almost 13 million vulnerable citizens. In particular, cash assistance is provided in areas where market conditions make it possible, thus enabling people to buy food and necessities, while supporting small farmers and local markets. The funding arrives at a critical moment as WFP works to maintain its Yemen operations and thus prevent the humanitarian crisis from deteriorating. The European Union is a Shining World Leadership Award for Peace recipient, and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care and True Caring laureate. We applaud your kind generosity, the European Union and the United Nations World Food Programme! May the Yemenis be blessed with abundance and stability, in Heaven’s love.

Study reveals humans historically caused most mammal extinctions.

Researchers from the United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland have discovered that 96% of mammal extinctions in the last 126,000 years were caused by humans, rather than climate changes related to the Ice Age cycles as previously thought. The study evaluated a large set of fossil data from the prehistoric period and found that extinction rates of mammals in Australia, Madagascar and North America increased dramatically after humans arrived. The scientists cautioned that we could lose at least 550 more mammal species in the next 100 years from human activities such as those causing global warming, unless we quickly take action. Thank you, researchers, for your timely findings. We pray that we can soon coexist in harmony with all species as we change to gentler ways, in Celestial guidance.

Up next, bumblebees benefit from faba bean crops. We’ll take a moment to thank the skillful mediators, who help two groups or countries reach an agreement and find resolutions. When we return, more inspirational news ahead, here on Supreme Master Television!

Good day, lively viewers, it’s Luca the vegan Leaf Insect. I am light and fast on my feet because I am powered by plant-based foods. Be vegan, like me. I’ve got a tip for you today on how to remove the tar that sometimes gets stuck on your car after you drive over a newly carpeted road. You should use an oil-based solvent such as road tar remover spray, WD-40 lubricant spray, or even smooth peanut butter. Put the solvent on a microfiber cloth or rag, and then apply it to the tar stain. Wait at least 30 seconds for the tar to soften or dissolve. Then, wipe clean the tar spots. Repeat this until all spots are removed. Finally, wash and wax your car. Love you for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Thank you for watching, and here’s the weather around the world!

Researchers discover that faba beans benefit bumblebees.

In a study by researchers from the University of Göttingen, the Julius Kühn Institute, and the Thünen Institute in Braunschweig, all in Germany, bee populations were compared in landscapes that had and did not have faba bean fields. Results showed that there were more than twice as many bumblebees in the faba bean landscapes than those without. This is due to the pollen being located deep within the flower; the bumblebees can reach it with their long tongues, whereas smaller insects cannot. However, the scientists recommended farmers grow a variety of flowering crops, along with bolstering semi-natural habitats, to encourage a wide range of bee and other species. Our appreciation, German researchers, for your insightful study into effective ways to support our beneficial insect friends. May our co-inhabitants, big and small, flourish in God’s protection.

United States company produces hydrogen sports car.

The Californian energy startup Hyperion has produced a hydrogen-powered supercar that can travel around 1,600 kilometers on a single tank of fuel and reach speeds of 96 kilometers per hour in a little more than two seconds. Apart from water vapor, the Hyperion XP-1 has no emissions. It also generates electricity using the hydrogen in a fuel cell, which drives the 1,000-horsepower motor. Also, the vehicle’s aerodynamic components not only enhance stability but also contain solar panels to follow the sun’s movements. With several prototypes already existing, the company plans to begin production in 2022. Such a beautiful, eco-friendly creation, Hyperion. In Divine innovation, may your XP-1 supercar start a new wave of zero-emissions vehicles, as we explore all avenues possible for green transportation.

Marine biologist uses world’s most robust coral to save endangered reefs.

Dr. Emma Camp, leading coral conservation and resilience researcher at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, is determined to save the surviving population of our planet’s coral. The dedicated biologist has searched the globe to find the world’s toughest and most resilient corals, thereby helping replenish areas of reef degraded by climate change. As a result, she has found corals that are able to thrive in extreme environments, such as mangrove lagoons, where the water is naturally warm and acidic, with low oxygen conditions. Since then, she and her team have been transplanting mangrove corals onto reefs to see if they will flourish. What remarkable work, Dr. Emma Camp and team. Wishing you further success in your scientific exploration and praying for our wondrous marine world to be restored, in the grace of the Providence.

Coming up, Indian startup produces cashmere-alternative vegan fabric. We’ll pause now to be grateful for the makers of personal protective equipment of all kinds, which helps us avoid illness and accidents, and indeed saves lives. You’re watching Noteworthy News on Supreme Master Television. Welcome back to Noteworthy News – Helping News for a Cooperative World.

Fashion entrepreneur from Tamil Nadu, India creates plant-based cashmere wool.

Gowri Shankar, founder of natural fabric company Faborg, has created a vegan cashmere wool, called Weganool, using the Calotropis plant, also known as milkweed. To create the innovative yarn, the shrub’s pod fibers and stem are handspun by local women, then combined with 70% organic cotton fiber. Residues from the fiber extraction process are converted into a natural fertilizer, called Arka, for the local farmers. Mr. Shankar found inspiration after watching neighborhood sunbirds use Calotropis plant fibers to create a nest. He hopes that expanded operations in the future will help benefit the farmers who grow and process the plant. Our accolades, Gowri Shankar and local women, for your compassionate efforts to create vegan cashmere. In Heaven’s blessings, may it become an integral part of the new vegan world economy to ensure the future sustainability of all.

American organizations collaborate to save animals in Caribbean islands.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue (BDRR), a Florida-based canine aid group and Shining World Compassion Award laureate, recently organized three missions to save hundreds of cats and dogs in overcrowded Caribbean animal shelters, from euthanasia. In its first operation, BDRR partnered with local workboats manufacturer Weedoo Greenboat Inc., to charter an airplane that cost nearly US$30,000. They flew 116 felines and canines, from the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, to Florida. Upon arrival, they were received by eight shelter partners from across the US. Founder and CEO of Weedoo Greenboat Inc. Tara Lordi, who tended to the animals on-board, said, “All lives matter… including these species…” You are true heroes, Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Weedoo Greenboat Inc., all shelters and parties involved. May the rescued animal friends soon find loving homes, as we herald a vegan world where all beings shall bask in Divine harmony.

Experience the healing power of laughter with the joke of the day entitled “Report.”

A woman was calling the police to report about her stolen car.

“Somebody stole my car!”

A bright voice of the police secretary answered:

“It wasn’t us!”
