Here is a handy tip for you today! Don't get rid of your old paintbrushes! After they wear out, just remove the metal ferrule using a pair of needle-nose pliers. Now the wood or composite handle can be re-purposed as a table saw push stick that makes it safer for your hands and fingers when using the powerful electric table saws! These tools are easily misplaced and lost so it's better to have a few spares in the work cupboard!
Now, it’s time for our chuckle appointment with the joke of the day. It’s called, “Finding the Newborn.”
With all the new technology for fertility becoming available, Meliza, a 65-year-young woman was able to give birth to a beautiful and healthy baby boy. After she was discharged from the hospital and back at home, her friend went to visit her.
“May I see the new baby?”
“Not yet. I'll make coffee and we can talk for a while first.”
Thirty minutes passed, and the friend asked:
“May I see the new baby now?”
“No, not yet.”
After another few minutes elapsed, the friend asked again:
“Well, when can I see the infant?”
“When he cries.”
“When he cries? Why do we have to wait until he cries?”
“Because I forgot where I put him, OK?”
?!
And now we have a heartline from Ha-neul in Korea:
Thank you, Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai, Tim Qo Tu, and the Supreme Master TV team.
Due to the abnormal temperature of the current winter season, many corners of the world are suffering from extreme weather conditions. On January 12, 2023, the highest daytime temperature in Gangneung City soared to 18.7 degrees Celsius, recording the warmest January weather in 59 years. But nowadays, a month later from then, the city is experiencing a cold snap with the sensory temperature reaching minus 20 degrees Celsius. With such a stark temperature difference, it seems that not only humans but also wild bird-people are finding it difficult to find food.
Our Most Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) shared these wise words with global viewers during a conference with Supreme Master TV team members (all vegans) in July 2020: “Self-sustain as much as possible. Even if you have a balcony, you can plant things to eat. If you have land, you plant crops, you plant vegetables, you plant fruit trees. Be self-sustained as much as possible. Anyone.”
As per Master’s advice, I left the root parts of a cabbage, and left it for about a week with just a water change. And it really sprouted and had roots. I was so excited that I took a video when I planted it in a pot. I have a small balcony, so I tried planting vegetables there to be self-sustained. It was very therapeutic for me during summer and autumn. In the winter, the vegetables were drying up in the cold, and one day I saw a wild bird-person came and ate the peppers, so I sliced some fruit and put it out with water, and the bird-person came and ate it several times a day. When the warm spring came, she/he stopped coming.
I moved to another place last year, and this year I also planted winter-grown cabbage on the balcony. When winter came, another wild bird-person came and ate the cabbage starting January 2023, so I prepared fruit and water for him/her. I only put the vegetables, fruits, and water on the balcony during the daytime, and bring them back in from night till early morning because they will freeze in this cold weather. And I put a rug under the balcony to keep the bird- people poop from falling out.
World Vegan, World Peace! I sincerely wish it may be soon realized so that humanity and animal-people will live in harmony. Ha-neul from Korea
Thoughtful Ha-neul, You have created a beautiful relationship with the bird-people and the plants. Thank you for sharing your experiences. We hope you continue to find more ways to grow food for both humans and our animal friends, as well as for yourself! May you and all the kind people of Korea find new ways to care for our animal-folk, Supreme Master TV team
P.S. Master has these kind words for you: “Skillful Ha-neul, I am so pleased that you have discovered the wondrous experience of gardening! When we care for a plant and see it flourish, we feel happy. In your case, the generous plant also fed a bird-person, which creates a feeling of loving connection. As we nurture the animal-people and plants, we remember our connection to Mother Earth and our responsibilities to her. May you and courageous Korea continue to experience the joys of tending to plants, animal-people, and our beautiful planet.”
