I’ve got a helpful tip for you. Did you know that hot and humid weather during the summer months makes perfect conditions for horseflies to thrive? These insects, also known as clegs, have razor-sharp beaks like probes that cause painful bites, that take much longer to recover from compared to other bug bites such as from mosquitoes. Some people even suffer from allergic reactions and develop uncomfortable, swollen bumps within minutes of a bite. It is crucial the bite be kept clean to prevent bacteria from getting into the wound and causing an infection. It is recommended to wash the area using warm water and an antiseptic soap. It may be helpful to apply an ice pack to the affected area to help soothe it and stop the itching. Try not to scratch the area if possible. Physicians recommend using an over-the-counter steroid cream that contains hydrocortisone to help with the itchiness. Ibuprofen gel can also help relieve pain and swelling. Be on the lookout for horseflies during the summer, but if you get bitten, now you’ll know how to treat it!
The chortle box is already about to burst open, so we’d better let the joke of the day out. It’s entitled, “The Real Reason.”
A young man went to see his Zen master.
“Dear master, lately I've found that I'm getting more and more tired of people. Please help me.”
Without saying a word, the Zen master jumped on the roof. Seeing that, the young man replied excitedly:
“Do you mean that I should look far and wide and ignore the little details in life?”
“Oh no, I just want to get a bit more distance from you.”
??!!
And now we have a heartline from Ankhbayar in Mongolia:
Dear Supreme Master and Supreme Master TV team, Since my childhood, I felt that there was a great Power, so I looked all over for it and tried many kinds of meditation, religion, and yoga. I even tried to be a monk. In the end, I stopped searching for everything and ended up with nothing. For about a year, after reading my Beloved Master’s book “The Key of Immediate Enlightenment,” I knew without a doubt that Master was the One I was looking for. Then, I received initiation with my family in 2011.
While searching for Master, I wrote a poem called “Great Love.” After finding Master, I knew Master was the One in the poem. Hence, I’m sending my poem.
Highest of Love is right next to you, people
This Love encompasses all beings, even the tough ones
Loving the whole world, not only a single person
Loving the entire planet, not only a single creature
It is a Love that harms not even the villains but forgives
A Love that hurts not even the rapacious, but awakens (them)
Highest of Love is right beside you, people
Right next to you, people of this very limited Universe
If you don’t receive from this Great Love in time
It might depart to a distant planet gradually
If you don’t receive this Love
It might leave for Heaven
Please do wait, Highest of Love
Please save and nurture all beings.
Wishing You, my Beloved Master, all the best and to be healthy. May Master’s wishes come true. Ankhbayar from Mongolia
Poetic Ankhbayar, What a great blessing it is that you connected with our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai, the One you had searched for so long! Your beautiful poem, which we are so glad you sent, is so very eloquent. May you and colorful Mongolia continue to shine in Buddha’s Blessings and Light, Supreme Master TV team
P.S. Here is a response from Master to you: “Beautiful Ankhbayar, thank you for sharing your composition. It well expresses that the Great Love is the highest and purest Love in the Universe. You surely learned many things during your long search for the ultimate Truth. May you and the worthy Mongolian people forever feel the protection of the Highest Love.”
